Households shown: no dependent parents; the spouse column has no children. At 10% and 20%, dependents do not increase regular compensation. A 0% rating does not carry a regular monthly payment. For additional children, dependent parents, or a spouse receiving Aid and Attendance, calculate your monthly VA pay.

When were the 2026 VA rates effective?

VA labels its 2026 rates as effective December 1, 2025. That is a rate effective date, not the date every veteran receives a deposit. VA generally pays recurring monthly benefits after the benefit month. The December 2026 benefit month is expected to use the following annual rate adjustment when effective; the scheduled deposit on December 31, 2026 therefore should not automatically be described as being paid at the old 2026 rate. See the 2027 rate page for the status of upcoming amounts.

Expected 2026 VA disability payment dates

The table lists the benefit month first, then the expected regular deposit date. VA's recurring pattern pays for the preceding benefit month, shifting to the previous business day when the first of the following month is a weekend or federal holiday. These are derived schedule dates, not individually guaranteed VA deposit dates.

Two deposits in a single calendar month are possible. For example, the January 2026 benefit is expected on January 30, 2026; December 2025 benefits were expected on December 31, 2025. The displayed benefit-month label avoids mixing deposits with the months they cover.

USAA and Navy Federal early deposits

Banks may post an eligible direct deposit earlier than the regular settlement date, but an early deposit is not guaranteed. USAA may make qualifying government benefits available early depending on receipt of payment instructions. Navy Federal's published early military-pay schedules should not be treated as automatic schedules for VA disability benefits. For a fuller explanation see VA disability payment dates and direct deposit guide.

How to estimate monthly VA compensation

  1. Identify your VA combined rating from your rating decision. VA math is not simple addition of separate ratings.
  2. Check the current official annual VA rate table for your exact dependent category.
  3. Use the VA Pay Calc calculator to explore possible award scenarios; the results do not replace your actual VA payment or award letter.
  4. To verify what VA already paid, use VA Payment History.

What Affects Monthly VA Pay?

Start with your final combined rating. If you have several individual ratings, calculate your combined rating before using the chart. A qualifying bilateral factor can affect that combined rating, but is not a separate dollar addition to these rates.

At 30% and above, eligible dependents can change your payment without changing your rating. The table covers three common households; the VA disability pay calculator also includes dependent parents, additional children, and a spouse receiving Aid and Attendance. Check the full VA rate tables for all categories.

Which rate applies to your payment?

This is the 2026 rate schedule, effective December 1, 2025. It is not a back-pay table for every prior year. An older award period may use a different year's rates, and your individual award can also include adjustments outside this chart. These amounts do not determine eligibility for SMC or TDIU.

Need to understand the percentage first? Follow the VA combined-rating examples and rounding rules. For household examples at a specific level, see the 50% VA disability pay guide or the 100% VA disability pay guide.
