What Affects Monthly VA Pay?
Start with your final combined rating. If you have several individual ratings, calculate your combined rating before using the chart. A qualifying bilateral factor can affect that combined rating, but is not a separate dollar addition to these rates.
At 30% and above, eligible dependents can change your payment without changing your rating. The table covers three common households; the VA disability pay calculator also includes dependent parents, additional children, and a spouse receiving Aid and Attendance. Check the full VA rate tables for all categories.
Which rate applies to your payment?
This is the 2026 rate schedule, effective December 1, 2025. It is not a back-pay table for every prior year. An older award period may use a different year's rates, and your individual award can also include adjustments outside this chart. These amounts do not determine eligibility for SMC or TDIU.
Need to understand the percentage first? Follow the VA combined-rating examples and rounding rules. For household examples at a specific level, see the 50% VA disability pay guide or the 100% VA disability pay guide.
